Task A

1.0 Task A



1.1 Networked (Li Ka Shing)
          Before online business networking, there existed face-to-face networking for business. This was achieved through a number of techniques such as trade show marketing and loyalty programs. Though these techniques have been proven to still be an effective source of income, many companies now focus more on online marketing due to the ability to track every detail of a campaign and justify the spend involved in setting up one of these campaigns. "Schmoozing" or "rubbing elbows" are expressions used among professional business professionals for introducing and meeting one another in a business context, and establishing business rapport.
          Many business use networking as a key factor in their marketing plan. It helps to develop a strong feeling of trust between those involved and play a big part in raising the profile and takings of a suppliers company  and businesses can be seen as networked businesses, and will tend to source the business and their suppliers through their existing relationships and those of the companies they work closely with. Networked businesses tend to be open, random, and supportive, whereas those relying on hierarchical, traditional managed approaches are closed, selective, and controlling. These phrases were first used by Thomas Power, businessman and chairman of Ecademy, an online business network, in 2009.
         In 1940, the billionaire fled with his family from China to Hong Kong. At the age of 15 years, he quit school because of his father’s death. He started working by selling plastic, belts watchbands and flowers to raise money for daily bread.  When he reached his early twenties, Li was fortunate enough to begin with Cheung Kong Industries.  In a span of few years he became an illustrious name in Hong Kong. Known as Superman in Hongkong, Li Ka Shing is the 11th Richest Man In The World with an estimated wealth of $31.9 billion. Li Ka shing family originated from Chui Chow, China. His father was diagnosed with Tuberculosis, which made Li take up the family responsibility from a very early age.  His father died at the age of 15leaving him to be the only bread earner in the family. Due to war like conditions in China, his family fled from China to Hongkong. Li Ka Shing mother was Zhuang Biqin, who was a strong pillar of support to the family. Blessed with three kids the, Li Ka Shing was the eldest child. The second son was Li Jiazhao and a daughter Late Su Hu Li, who passed away.
          Li Ka Shing married his maternal uncle’s daughter Chong Yuet Ming. The couple has been blessed with two kids named as Victor Li and Richard Li. Chong Yuet Ming died in the year 1990 in her apartment. It is believed she died because of an overdose of sleeping pills. As the Shing family followed Buddhist traditions, Chong Yuet Ming was buried undertaking the same traditions.
           A Hong Kong is a businessman and philanthropist, he is one of the richest in Asia. As of 2015, Li Ka-shing has a net worth of US $ 33.5 billion. Born to poor parents in mainland China, he lost his father at the young end, this led to him having to start work at the age of 15. He first worked in a plastics trading company. After gaining valuable experience working in the plastics industry, Li Ka Shing may establish their own business, named Cheung Kong plastics company in year 1950.He has a wide network of business partners. He has used these networks to obtain loans from the financial capital of its partners to buy its first factory in 1958.
         Over the following years he changed the company's focus on plastic he eventually turned into a real estate development and management company. Business is booming in recent years and the company is renamed Cheung Kong Holdings. It was listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.He developed his business by taking over the Hutchison Whampoa of HSBC in 1979. It added that the various industries with its existing business.
         He runs an investment in container port facilities around the world, including in Hong Kong, Canada, China, United Kingdom, Rotterdam, Panama, Bahamas and many others. This shows he can expand his business to countries outside of the country he has a good network of partners.He has been involved in various business sectors such as real estate, ports, electricity, telecommunications and the Internet.
     Finally, Li Ka Shing cleverly uses its network to expand its business abroad. This could prove an entrepreneur must possess a series of running a business in this market. Although one of the richest individuals in the world, he is known for being simple to practice a frugal lifestyle.


1.2 Open Risk Taker  (Jimmy Choo)
            The risk is that the measures taken by an entrepreneur in running a business. Risk which is likely to happen to that individual is high risk, medium risk and low risk. These steps depend on the entrepreneur. Anyone want huge profits by investing substanial capital. It also affects decisions entrepreneurs themselves, whether that decision is an act wisely or not. As an example we take is an entrepreneur named Jimmy Choo. As we know is Jimmy Choo well-known for its expertise in the field of fashion. He is talented in producing high heels that have a class of its own. In other words, high heels created by his exclusive and stylish. His high heels was inspired by nature such as trees, flowers, and interior decoration where he often visited. Jimmy Choo was born in Penang in 1961 into a family where his father was also an expert in making shoes. He gained early exposure of his own father. He attended primary school in Shih Chung Primary School and learning until the end of his 12 years old. He succed to produce the first shoe at the age 11 years old. He continued his studies in fashion in London. For the first year of her parents defray the cost of his education, while for the next 3 years he worked part-time as a cleaner at the restaurant and also in the tannery to cover the cost of his education there.
            After his graduation in the field of fashion, he took an open risk by trying to open a shoe store in a building rented an abandoned former hospital site. For 4 years he endured grief because his shoe sales declined. After trying hunched over 4 years, Jimmy Choo finally get coverage in a fashion magazine Vogue Magazine in the UK. Jimmy Choo name began to be known but unfortunately Jimmy Choo declining sales. Four years later, when the late Princess Diana was pleased with his design and purchase designer Jimmy Choo in 1990. Since then, Princess Diana was amazed by his design. As a result, the name of Jimmy Choo grew up in the international arena. Talent and his creativity in producing high heels internationally acclaimed art of interest and guidance of his father. Jimmy Choo consistent in what is to be produced quickly and do not have the excuses to easily give up and he already made a name in the field of fashion. In fact, he is already on par with international fashion designers.

            To become a great entrepreneur and successful they should make the study will advance the type business they run. Before taking steps in their business should be involved in researching the type of business they want to try like to ask the person who opened that business type. This is important because we can anticipate what risks we will face. To start a business is also in view of budget estimates. This is important because if understated the budget of a business will not run smoothly as planned. In addition, the risk of this type of advertising should also be emphasized. This is because a product intending to be produced according to the required budget estimates. The financial system in an important business management to ensure smooth management smoothly.
            Conclusion is, Jimmy Choo has its own unique management style and caused him to attain a name in the international arena and is known around the world. Jimmy Choo is an entrepreneur who is not afraid to take any risks. For he, returns from the risks taken will earn a good on his. Jimmy Choo has fulfilled the criteria of successful entrepreneur in Malaysia. He also became an icon for future entrepreneurs who wants to run a business. The idea of an entrepreneur should be creative and other fresh from others. An entrepreneur always think outside of the box to process each new invention and meet the customer.


1.3 Observant (Faiza Bawumi Sayed Ahmad)
          Observant means quick to notice or perceive things. In specific words, observant means someone who conscientious in doing a job. This feature is important to be a successful person. As evidence, Faiza Bawumi Sayed Ahmad is an owner of Syarikat Faiza Sdn. Bhd. . Faiza is born on 1964 and have moved to Malaysia because she follow her husband.  Faiza fluent and can talk in Malay language after only three month in Malaysia. Beside being aged of 60 years and  the grandmother of 32 grandchildren, she also busy planning a strategy to strengthen and expand her business to all over the world.
            Syarikat Faiza did not succeed easily. She start to sew with capital of RM 4 and in addition to selling a wide range of groceries. Then, she switch to make curry spice under Bunga Raya brands that is made at home and distribute them in stores. The capital from selling the spice curry is used to open the grocery store. Faiza start to open the grocery store as a core business. From there, she find that the wholesalers are from the other races. At start of Faiza company, she learn to recognize the different types of rice.
            Before she selling the rice, she had to go from one shop to another to get feedback if they want to buy her rice if she sell it. In the year of 1992, Syarikat Faiza is officially become Syarikat Faiza Sdn. Bhd and interweave the venture capital with Padiberas Nasional (Bernas) in 1997. On a positive response, Faiza apply for a wholesalers and selling rice license. Although the rival is quite intense, her business received encouraging response.  In early 1990, people begin to insensitive to a method of manufacturing and content of food.
            In 1998, she promoting  Ponni rice from India which is good for health, especially for diabetes, obesity and high blood pressure. Faiza said that to prove the rice is good, her company has requested Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) to make a study and the results are positive. Thus, it has been proven that the feature that Faiza practiced have made her a successful entrepreneur in Malaysia. Our country should be proud with entrepreneurs like this in Malaysia and hope that the birth of new entrepreneurs in the future.

1.4 Visionary  (Saiful Nang)
          Saiful Nang professionally as the well-known photographer have big influences among all others in Malaysia and acknowledge as the leader in new troops of the millennium. He becomes as one of the great success and visionary leader that able to overcome the tremendous circumstances.  His career becoming so entertain, he has able to come back with the usage of friend’s DSLR camera from his friends. This is the starting point, for his career as the photography entrepreneur.  
         He has been awarded by the Media Corp Asia as one of the best Asia’s photographer. This is one of the remarkable in his industry achievement. Besides, he has also being awarded as the 20th Successful Entrepreneur (Dewan Ekonomi (2011)).   In addition, he has also succeed being listed as in Top Ten Malaysians Individuals as in the name of Datuk Lee Chong Wei and Tan Sri Tony Fernandez.
          The most highly achievement in his career when he formed most known professional photography named Candid Syndrome. This innovative, creative and sophisticated ideas photography making the company successful by taken several contracts with the outsider like Indonesia, Brunei and Sweden.
          He has famous as the ‘visionary leader’ when he able to put the photography career being accepted as the economical and profit oriented in the world wide. The company is not stop at simple point but he lead to established the photography academy that named as the ‘Saiful Nang Academy of Photography’ that nurtures almost 30, 000 of the young and talented  amateur  in photography.
          It is not the choices, if you start something and not making any progress. As the talented persons, most visionary leasers are going to finds the ways to contribute and making more expansion and not try to restrict their self. Saiful Nang has grown the definition of the photographer not only at certain occasion but able to sale it as the must product for each corporate company. This is the characteristic that need to be embedded in almost of the youngster nowadays.


1.5 Failure Is An Option (Tan Sri Tony Fernandes)
          Succesfull entrepreneurs often not easily discouraged when failure. At a difficult time, they are still looking for opportunities. Most entrepreneurs believe that they learn more from failure than success. As an entrepreneur, they will not run the risk of failure in business. For an entrepreneur who has an open mind and are motivated, they will assume faced failure in business is as a challenge to continue to progress and be successful in the business. Examples of successful entrepreneurs after dealing with failure is CEO Air Asia Tan Sri Tony Fernandes.
            Tan Sri Tony Fernandes is a founder and leading low-cost airline Air Asia. Tan Sri Tony Fernandes, who is now aged 48 and was born on 30 April 1964 to a family of Portuguese Goa (India) and Portuguese Malacca. His father named Dr. Stephen Edward Fernandes and his mother, Ena Dorothy Fernandez. Tan Sri Tony Fernandez wants to buy a company that almost went bankrupt as a result of debt is too high and unable to repay. Fernandes lease the house and use the savings to buy the company. Air Asia at that time had two old Boeing airplanes, and owed a total of RM40 million.
          Events at the time of purchase after 11 September 2001, namely a period of the worst in the history of commercial aviation industry, causing people to argue that Fernandes had become crazy because there are no people who dare to fly. They also predict that the company Air Asia will go bankrupt. However after a year, Air Asia is able to explain the entire debt, and no longer suffer losses. The reorganization Air Asia with images and concepts that bring big changes and gain in a short period of time.
         On December 28, 2014, he received the sad news that one of the 8501 AirAsia plane has accident and crashed on the island of Borneo, Indonesia. A total of 162 people were on the plane and all were killed. It is very disappointing when the perception of people started saying AirAsia is the cause of this incident and they already look down on this company.     However, for Tan Sri Tony Fernandes, this is not a failure for everything. He was patient in the face of this tragedy and try to take steps to compensate the victims of accidents. Victims not only consist of Indonesian citizens, but also from other countries such as South Korea, France, Malaysia, Singapore and the United Kingdom.
            During the investigation period, every corner of the airframe inspection and find the cause of this accident. Many countries sent help search the wreckage and victims. Therefore, there are many ways of settlement is made by the CEO of AirAsia to get back on track after receiving a problem. After the incident, he sent each of its subsidiaries to check the aircraft before take-off and step up security and passenger aircraft. In conclusion, he proved that nothing is impossible in this world and what is more interesting, module AirAsia's low fares services business, an example of its rivals such as establishing Fireflyz MAS, SIA establishing Tiger Airways and Qantas Airways to establish Jetstar Airways.



1.6 Open Culture  (Steven Lim)
         The concept of an open culture where knowledge is that there needs to be freely distributed and growth through the development, exchange and enrich the work of the existing on the basis of partnership and cooperation without being bound by any rules regarding the protection of intellectual property law
        Some examples of entrepreneurs who adhere to this concept is Steven Lim, who is the founder of Secret Recipe. He was a creative and ambitious. Secret Recipe existence began when he noticed a lack in food-based businesses in Malaysia and established its first premises in Petaling Jaya. Due to lack of capital at the beginning of the first outlet to advertise his marketing by offering free coffee to customers. His desire to open an outlet in Orchard Road have lost because of the brand Malaysia underestimated but he never gave up until the end Berjaya well. Secret Recipe market now successfully reaching out to China, Australia, the Philippines, Thailand, Brunei and some other countries that raise brand Malaysia to a higher level.
          In conclusion, Steven Lim is an entrepreneur-featured open culture as he is able to detect shortcomings in the food business and successfully create new concepts that fit a variety of walks of life globally around the world.


1.7 Outcome Oriented (Mydin Mohamed Bin Ghulam Hussein)
          Entrepreneurship is a critical thinkers to produce products outside the box and beyond people’s expectations. An entrepreneur never giving up in doing something till successful. They also have a high desire in the success of their business. They will seek help earlier entrepreneurs who have managed to get useful tips to use in the future. An entrepreneur must be proactive, proactive means actively participating in community service activities involving the public. They prefer the needs of the public by not burdening them. Entrepreneurs take actions to sell their products by offering a much lower price that they can get. As exampes of entrepreneurs that can linked here is the founder of company Mydin Mohamed Holdings Berhad is a Mr. Mydin Mohamed Bin Ghulam Hussein. He good at finding opportunities to better known, with what he did he will be rewarded. Entrepreneurs must consider that the needs of the public as well think profit alone. In addition, he can also be an opportunity for workers to public.
            Entrepreneurs are individuals who see a potential in themselves . they will desperately working hard to make the effort worthwhile  and find fulfillment .It is because entrepreneur have to aim the profit to make sure that their company will always stable.   They also do not think profit alone , but the results can be used to contribute to communities. They are an important asset to the country , as a result of their efforts that will bring honor to both countries


1.8 Team Oriented (Steve Jobs)
             Team work is a characteristic of an entrepreneur. Team work means work or work performed in groups. Team work is an important aspect that should be included in entrepreneur person. Successful entrepreneurs have a great teamwork that can help him in his efforts to advance any type of business. A good team work also can makes business carried durable. For example, many successful entrepreneurs have a strong teamwork to help each other in any types of problem or to solve the problem.
          Steven Paul "Steve" Jobs ( February 24, 1955 – October 5, 2011) was an American information technology entrepreneur and inventor. He was the co-founder, chairman, and chief executive officer (CEO) of Apple Inc.; CEO and largest shareholder of Pixar Animation Studios a member of The Walt Disney Company's board of directors following its acquisition of Pixar; and founder, chairman, and CEO of NeXT Inc. Jobs is widely recognized as a pioneer of the microcomputer revolution of the 1970s, along with Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak. Shortly after his death, Jobs's official biographer, Walter Isaacson, described him as a "creative entrepreneur whose passion for perfection and ferocious drive revolutionized six industries: personal computers, animated movies, music, phones, tablet computing, and digital publishing.
          This characteristic can be seen by the figure of Steve jobs. Steve Jobs is the most famous entrepreneur whose his work been used all over the world. Steve Jobs was originally just a worker in Atari Ins. Through this work of Steve Jobs talent in the field of computing. Recognizing his interest more inclined towards the computerization Steve Jobs and his friend Steve Wozniak decided to set up a company called Apple.
          It was not easy to make Apple as a known brand. There are many challenge that Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak have to face such as they do not have enough worker and they also do not have a real premise. But this challenge does not make Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak give up. They survive and work by each other. They took 10 years to develop the Apple and to make a company known throughout the country.
           Steve Jobs and his team not only can work together to produce a product that is absolutely perfect, but they can also keep the company's secrets. For example, information about the latest product to be released by Apple has never leaked by a team of Steve Jobs. We can only find out information about the product through a press conference held by Apple. Good cooperation between Steve Jobs and his team managed to prevent competitors to imitate their products.
          Now Apple was a great company that produce electronic gadget that been used by everyone. In conclusion, the team work between Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak was one factor that lead to the company Apple is known worldwide.


1.9 Proactive (Datuk Wira Dr. Maznah)
         According to the Student Dictionary Second Edition, proactive means to be positive with the drafting and control measures taken much earlier than expected will force things or events. Datuk Wira Dr. Maznah is Executive Chairman of Securiforce. She was proactive and managed to make Securiforce as a security company in Malaysia. Not only that, she has also been successful with expanding services Securiforce to logistics (handle cargo by air, sea and land as well as a system of warehousing and distribution integrated), cash management, high - tech cargo management, service 'armored trucking, and various services other.
       One of its companies, Transport Company Sdn. Bhd provides electronic security services such as installation of CCTV cameras, central monitoring system, electronic card access system, fire control system and the supply of equipment for institutions of higher learning. This achievement not expected by the public because they remember Securiforce service only limited to the control of safety standards and service Cash-In-Transit. She was a normal woman, but she held fast to the principle of 'we must be willing to work more than the salary paid, then eventually we will get more of what we do'. This principle has enabled her to achieve the success that smart in his life.
         Before she decided to get involved in the field of security services, her almost daily visits to the house foreign embassies due classroom teaching there and found the dignitaries were among the key targets for this service which has many security guards, thus she has no intention of try out the business of security. She and her husband have taken over security company in 1980 by naming Securiforce Sdn. Bhd with their savings. Beginning with this company is actually very difficult because she did not have the financial resources (bank loans can not), but she was forced to sell your home and rent a house in a slum without electricity for two years.
          The consistency she has won the title of 'iron lady' because she survived all the hardships. During interviews with reporters, she said the wealth of experience that is taken from the beginning to the end she managed to maintain a system to cause a sophisticated and comprehensive security at this time. Her proactive attitude more persistent record that she has managed to become the first Malaysian woman to take care of security companies. In fact, she has several subsidiaries that are thriving in the real estate field. Among them is Lake Fair, property developers in Bandar Tun Razak, Cheras who build condominiums along the exclusive penthouse.
          Moreover, due to changing global demand, Securiforce has been expanding internationally by establishing Securiforce logistics (shipping agent land, sea and air) to meet current needs. His business internationally, including Asia, Europe and the Middle East. Furthermore, Securiforce Logistics has branches in Singapore, Bangkok, China, Korea, Turkey and Germany. His achievements are impressive everyone. The principle of his success is 'actual business capital is itself'. In his book Hunting Success Motivation, words that inspire the spirit of the book reads, "we should not just be an observer to the success of others. Grab business opportunities that always abound in our own country.

Task B (Bill Gates)

2.0 Task B (Bill Gates)



2.1 Proactive.
          Bill gates is a person that creating or controlling a situation by causing something to happen rather than responding to it after it has happened.From that attitude, he can be a number one people that very professional in multimedia profesion. This is because, from his story, he lived close enough to the University of Washington that he could take advantage of free computer time from 3:00–6:00 am. He got to work on Information Sciences Inc.’s payroll software. He worked on the control system at the Bonneville power station. This is all before graduating high school.
                 This show, before he  be  a successful person, he already take a action to creating his future. He chose to take the advantage of this situation. Each step of the way, he did everything he could to get those most out of the opportunities available to him, and that, in turn, started to open doors and create new opportunities. The gig has working on the Bonneville station was referred to him because he had established himself as a talented programmer that never person have before. Thats why people have being proactive when doing something in their life.

2.2 Networked
          After reading the magazine Popular Electronics, January 1975 issue of the Altair 8800, Gates contacted MITS (Micro Instrumentation and Telemetry Systems), the company that created the micro-computer. Although at this point he has yet to start writing any code for the Altair 8800, he told the president of MITS company that the work of building a mediation BASIC is being made by his partners. Bill Gates and Paul Allen still can’t start writing the source code because they still do not have Altair, but actually his purpose is just to get the attention of the MITS.MITS president agreed to meet Bill Gates and Paul Allen to give a demonstration.
          In a few weeks, Bill Gates and Paul Allen managed to build a match (emulator ) to Altair using mediation minicomputers and BASIC. Bill Gates and Paul Allen later won a contract to distribute the mediation that called Altair BASIC. Bill Gates, then formed a company, Micro-Soft, along with Paul Allen and take study leave from Harvard to start his new business. Microsoft decided partnership with MITS in late 1976 and continue the construction of a programming language software for various system. Bill Gates has a great responsibility in his company but still helps in writing the code. In the first 5 years of the establishment of Microsoft, he would personally check every single line of source code and also makes repair of the code, if necessary, before it is distributed.
          In 1980, IBM offered Microsoft to build mediation BASIC for the company's latest personal computer called the IBM PC. When notified by IBM that they require operating system, Bill Gates propose operating system CP / M, which was built by Dr. Gary Kildall from Digital Research (DRI). According to Jack Sams, his discussions with DRI have stalled in connection with the problem of software licenses. A few weeks later, Bill Gates suggested 86-DOS (QDOS), an operating system similar to CP / M, built by Seattle Computer Products (SCP), Microsoft managed to get approval from the SCP to be an agent for QDOS and later became sole owner of the license. After the adaptation made to allow QDOS work in personal computer, Microsoft sold it to IBM, known as PC-DOS.
           PC-DOS is an operating system for the IBM personal computer that is sold by Microsoft to IBM unconditional and payment is only made once. At the same time Microsoft build MS-DOS, an operating system for computers not owned by IBM, also known as "clones". In 1980, Microsoft introduced a version of the operating system used Graphical User Interface (GUI) based on the idea that was founded by Xerox corporation, and be updated by Apple. Microsoft launched its new operating system called "Windows" to match the software market to make the software easier to use (user friendly).
          Windows 3.0 was released in 1990 with great success, sold over 10 million units within the first 2 years and the inscribe the name Microsoft as a leading company in the sales of the operating system. To ensure that Microsoft products remain the number one in the business of operating systems, Microsoft collaborated with companies personal computer to load the "Windows" is inherent in all new computers. With the success of the collaboration, Microsoft Corporation became a giant in the field of operating systems and makes Bill Gates as the richest man in the world until this day.

2.3 Visionary
     In order to becoming success or be a successful person needs a vision. Vision will lead us to be more motivated and being inspired to achieve our goals or mission. A vision is the ability to see what others cannot see. It is being able to have a picture in your mind of exactly the result you intend to produce. The visionary entrepreneur is able to see exactly what his or her business is going to look like in every detail when it is finished. Means that they have their own plan and strategy to make sure that their business are going well. The meaning of finished in this contact are a business as an investment, which is we are building the asset and any asset whether it is, a stock, real estate, or a business must have an exit strategy before we start. Once our business is working exactly how we would envisioned it, in every detail, we are either going to sell it, or we are going to keep it, which means we have to buy  it ourself and  if we buy our own business, we better make sure that it is worth the price we pay for it.
     Other people will see him as an innovative visionary who sparked a computer revolution in the software industry. Based on what his supporters and haters may think, they can argue that Bill Gates is one of, the most successful entrepreneur of the 20th century. In just 25 years, he had built a two-man operation into a multibillion-dollar colossus and made himself the richest man in the world somewhere along the way. Besides he accomplished his creation not by inventing new technology, but by taking existing technology, adapting it to a specific market, and then he dominating that market through innovative promotion.
          Bill Gates setup his aim and become visionary to make sure his business and creation can be compete with other competitors. He have a vison and set the strategy which is Gates took a disciplined approach toward software as a potential source of business opportunities. Besides that he was never too proud to be the second banana. Like a true entrepreneur, Gates saw the "structural holes" in the personal computing marketplace and moved in to occupy them, always in a subordinate spot to the big players. Rather than vision, and certainly not pride of workmanship, Gates was all about execution.

2.4 Observant
          Becoming an influential and can affect people the way we work is by trait one that is in the individual’s own. Features of itself important for an entrepreneur, with these criteria makes people believe in the vision and mission to be achieved by entrepreneurs. In this task traits wish to discuss is the entrepreneur named Bill Gates, his name is William Henry Gates III, better known Bill Gates is an American businessman and Microsoft Corporation co-founder Paul Allen in 1975 he was at the time he was 19 years old.
